What we do

We equip people to gain fresh perspectives on problems, spot opportunities others miss and courageously put ideas into action.

We build the empathy of a designer, the hustle of an entrepreneur and the heart of a leader.

We incorporate methods from Stanford’s d.school, IDEO and global entrepreneurship programs, all while cultivating a lifestyle of curiosity and freedom from the fear of failure.

Meet the Founder

JESS MUNRO.jpg

Jess Munro loves grokking big systems challenges, like reimagining the future of higher ed, and working one-on-one with young leaders and entrepreneurs to discover the sense of purpose that fuels their work. As an experience designer, she loves to create magical learning experiences that ignite new behaviors and mindsets.

Jess teaches at Stanford University, with courses like Design for Influence and Human Values in Design. With the d.school, she imagined new futures for higher ed in which students “declare a mission, not a major.”

She is passionate about sparking entrepreneurs through design thinking and has had the privilege of working with some of the brightest young entrepreneurs from around the globe.

She launched the flagship Entrepreneurship program at African Leadership Academy, a pan-African school for future leaders. As Dean of Students, she built systems for this startup school that invited students to innovate in their own back yard – on the Academy itself!

During her years at IDEO, she led global innovation work with organizations like Kaiser Permanente, Medtronic and Gates Foundation and embedded a culture of innovation. She spearheaded the Design for Social Impact domain, which grew into IDEO.org, and jumpstarted a series of open-source toolkits for social entrepreneurs.

Jess loves to make with her hands and can be frequently found building wooden bird houses or robots with two sons and daughter.

Jess loves mentoring young female entrepreneurs, such as this vibrant bunch at Praxis Academy, along with Jena Lee Nardella, Partner of Nonprofit Portfolio at Praxis, and Dr. Kelly Burton, CEO of Founders of Color.
